Description

Charles Hunnings Wilkinson, author of "Analytical researches into the properties of the Bath waters ... being the first comparative analysis made of all the hot springs, and from which it is deduced that they are ramifications from one grand unknown source. To which are subjoined, observations on affections of the spine, hip-cases, herniae, club-feet etc", Bath: Wood and Cunningham, 1811. According to Thornton, Wilkinson was a galvanotherapist, wrote articles about "Princess Caraboo" (alias Mary Willcocks) in the "Bath chronicle" and the "Bristol Journal", gave lectures on scientific subjects in Kingston Buildings south of Bath Abbey, and advertised his lectures and demonstrations in the Bath press
