Description
De physionomia Joannis Baptistae Portae [Extract]. Followed by a copy of a Petition from the Turin City Council relating to flour-mills, extracts from Boccaccio on the Plague at Florence in 1348, etc., copies of model letters from Renaissance writers. All except the two physiognomical works are in Italian. Contents: (1) [Anon.] De physionomia humana (ff. 1-22); (2) Porta (G. B.) De physionomia [Extract] (ff. 23-42); (3) Turin City Council. Petition relating to flour-mills (ff. 42v-45); (4) Boccaccio (G.) Descrizione della pestilenza stata in Firenze l'anno 1348 (ff. 47-49); (5) Casa (G. della) Il Galateo [Extracts] (ff. 49-60); (6) Boccaccio (G.) 2 Novele (ff. 61-63); (7) Copies of model letters written by Renaissance humanists, etc. (ff. 64-84). The date 1779 is found in the Turin Petition.
