Description

St. Marylebone. New casual ward for the poor. The boards forming the beds are so hung on pivot as to be capable of being turned up every day for the purpose of cleaning the floor beneath. Inmates can place their clothes under the slightly raised pillow which is separately hinged. Some bunks are wider to accomodate a woman and two children.
