About this work

Description

Gwyneth Rowlands used original media in her work: she was very fond of the pebbles she collected on her trips to the seaside and later moved on to flints, discarded by local farmers tilling the fields, which she transformed into people and animals. Towards the end of her life she worked on a lengthy collage-like 'commentary' on art and life, titled 'Fox-hunting' (see SA/ADC/E/3/2).
