Biographical note

Dr. Achard obtained his M.D. at the Faculté de Médecine, Paris in 1887; in 1910 he was appointed professor of pathology and therapeutics in the Faculté and in 1919 Professor of Clinical Medicine [Cf. B. M. J. 1945 ii, p. 139.].
