Material originally in box files lablelled: 'Margaret Lowenfeld Library', formerly in the library of the Institute of Child Psychology and later the Child Care and Development Group, University of Cambridge.

The material is arranged roughly in alphabetical order by author and comprises mainly off-prints from journals or photocopied articles. Some of them were probably accumulated by Margaret Lowenfeld but it is likely that the collection was added to after her death.

They cover a variety of subjects in relation to child development, health and welfare including Lowenfeld techniques, emotional development, effects of childhood bereavement, effects of different forms for treatments and therapies for various conditions, sibling rivalry, mother-child separation, developmental psychology, maladjusted children, battered babies/children, 'problem children' and play therapy, childhood autistism, enuresis in childhood, infant observation, impact of the newborn on parents, imagery.
