About this work
Description
The medicine vendors have set up their stage on the corner of a street marked by a sign as Quay de l'Ecole: does this refer to the Ecole de Dessin, Lille, where the dedicatee of the print was professor? Or an Ecole de Médecine, as a comment on the medicine-vendors? Left, across the street, a large building with a portico and pediment
The medicine vendors' banner contains lettering "Par permission de Mr. le Lieutenant G[énéra]l de Police" and a painting of the medicine vendor healing the leg of a gentleman or nobleman
