    and place in the Library. Catalogues and Appendices shall, from time to time, be printed for the use of the Fellows, by the order and under the inspection of the Council. 3. The Library shall be open daily, (Sundays excepted,) at such times as the Council shall direct. 4. Should any Fellow injure, or remove from the Society’s house, any periodical or new publication, during the time allotted for its lying upon the Library table, he shall incur a fine of five shillings for every such offence. 5. A written acknowledgment shall be taken by the Registrar for every work lent out; the title of the work and the name of the Fellow obtaining it shall be inserted in a book to be kept for that purpose; and, in order that it may be readily known in whose possession a book is, it shall afterwards be entered alphabetically, according to the title of the work. When a book is returned, the entry shall be immediately cancelled by the Registrar, and the book restored to its place. fi. Pamphlets and periodical publications may be kept one week, all other books two weeks ; but, though it is desirable that these periods should be attended to by the Fellows, no fines shall be in- curred for exceeding them, unless after notice sent for the return of the book, pursuant to law. 7. When a book is required by several Fellows, the order of their application shall be noted by the Registrar, that they may be supplied accordingly. 8. Should a book, when sent for, be in the possession of another Fellow, an answer shall be returned, mentioning the name of the Fellow who has it, and the time that it has been out of the Library. If it be required, the Registrar shall, after the book has been out the specified time, send a proper notice for its being returned; and should this not be immediately complied with by the Fellow in whose possession it is, a fine of one shilling shall be incurred for every day he shall continue to detain it; allowing, however, one day for the delivery of the notice. 9. Four volumes only shall be allowed to be in the possession of any Fellow at one time, without leave jpf the Council, who may, however, on application to that effect, extend the number to ten. Pamphlets and periodical publications shall in this case, be con- sidered as volumes. 10. No Fellow shall be entrusted with the keys of the Library, nor be allowed to take down books unaccompanied by the Registrar. 11. No Fellow shall lend a book to any person, under a penalty of balf-a-guinea. 12. The Registrar shall be answerable for all such books as he cannot account for. 13. Any Fellow who loses or injures a book, shall, within a month after such default, replace it, or pay the value of the set, if there be more than one volume. 14.
