Biographical note
Henry Brougham (1778-1868), Attorney -General to Queen Caroline, Lord Rector of Glasgow University, 1825, founder of London University and elevated to peerage as Baron Brougham and Vaux, 1830. Sir Charles Bell (1774-1842), surgeon, chiefly known for his discovery of distinct functions of nerves, which was complete in 1826 and published in 'Nervous System of the Human Body', concerning book by Bell, 'Animal Mechanics'
