About this work

Description

Tuberculin skin test This shows a strongly positive and ulcerated Mantoux test on a young Indian man. The man presented with widespread raised (papular) lesions which were tender but without mycobacteria. A chest x-ray showed pleural changes and his sputum was positive for acid-fast bacilli (AFB). The most likely explanation for the skin lesions was papulonecrotic tuberculid.
