Right time for a baby?.

The number of women in the UK giving birth in their 40s has doubled in the last ten years. This programme looks at the reasons for this and at the risks involved in delaying motherhood. We meet Cheryl Small, 36, as she is about to give birth to her first child and 19-year-old Ashleigh Thomas Epsley as she gives birth. Bill Ledger, leading infertility expert, talks about late pregnancies. We also hear from Linda Towse who is having infertility treatment in her 40s, and Helen Whysall who has successfully given birth to two children since age 38. Interspersed with the stories reporter Kate Silverton describes her own feelings about whether or not to have children now she's 35.
