Description

Bible. N.T. Revelation 1.16; 19.15. Saint John the Evangelist kneels before the vision of Christ, shown here as described in the first vision of book 1 of Revelation. The later description of this image of Christ in book 19 has Christ wearing a robe dipped in blood. The book that John will write lies next to him. They are surrounded by the seven lampstands (Revelation 1.20) which represent the seven churches

Adytor. Aditus. Non surgit qui non iacVit discedite mundI/ O famuli immundi, quia vIta est mortua certE/ ... Pe. v. Borcht Lettering continues: "Vivida mors: tenebræ danT iucē noscere sed reS/ Anceps. quare ardens Ardentibus aggrediatVr. Pe. v. Borcht". The capital letters extend vertically and read: "Nova Vita Iesv"
