    I. Deformities of the Body as a Whole Gigantism, or giantism, means an enlargement of the different parts of the body. It may occur as a freak of nature, but in the majority of cases it means acromegaly. Fig. 2.—Gigantism. Dwarfism usually means cretinism. Gait—for the many and unusual gaits which these patients present, reference is made to the chapter on that subject.
