Typescript draft text by Maurice Wilkins detailing his reaction to accusations of sexism towards Rosalind Franklin made by Anne Sayre in Rosalind Franklin & DNA (Norton, New York, 1975), and by Horace Judson, in The eighth day of creation: makers of the revolution in biology (Simon & Schuster, New York, 1978), with particular reference to a letter written by Maurice Wilkins to John Randall in early 1952. Also includes transcript of letter from Maurice Wilkins to John Randall, written in early 1952; related manuscript and typescript research notes by Wilkins. This chapter was largely omitted from Maurice Wilkins’ published autobiography, The third man of the double helix (Oxford University Press, 2003).
