Lettering

Brentwood District Hospital, Brentwood, Essex. Detail of the principal ward block. Hugo R. Bird, F.R.I.B.A., architect. Owing to the nature of the sub-soil the foundations were carried out with reinforced concrete bases, piers and ground beams. The whole of this work was designed and carried out by Messrs. The Trussed Concrete Steel Co., Ltd. The brick facings are Kentish Stocks with local red faced dressings. Messrs. Roberts, Adlard and Co., Ltd., supplied and laid the hand-made sand-faced roofing tiles.
