About this work

Description

Research papers on schizophrenia, including lists of published sources, notes from published sources, general notes and notes on some example cases. The material is apparently in relation to Rosen's MD thesis, 'The Clinical Significance of Obsessional Symptoms in Schizophrenia'. His notes focus on the symptoms of schizophrenia such as obsessional behaviour, compulsion, personality disorder, delusions and prognosis. The file also contains a letter from Rosen submitting the title and scope of his proposed thesis to the Medical School Registrar, Johannesburg, when he was attached to the Maudsley Hospital, dated 16 Sep 1952. The thesis (title above) was to be based on about 50 clinical cases. (It was awarded by the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, in 1954). Also included are off-prints of the paper which was printed in The Journal of Mental Science, Vol.103, No.433, Oct 1957.

See also PP/ROS/C/3/12 for papers on a follow-up study thirty years later.
