Amoebiasis: histopathology of the colon This is a low power view of colonic tissue from a patient with perforation of the colon due to amoebiasis. It shows through-wall necrosis on the right, residual mucosa in the centre, and undermining amoebic invasion of the submucosa on either side of the mucosa at the base. H&E stain.
