About this work

Description

The codes in the visits registers were explained by Dr Blacklay as follows: 'A line NE to SW indicated a visit to be made and a subsequent line NW to SE indicated that the visit had been done. A circle cancelled an intention to visit or an error in recording. The list was "done" with the partners together allocating the visits and discussing the cases. A horizontal line indicated that the case was to be visited no longer, and was not to be copied into the next month's list.'
