About this work

Description

Notes, graphs and related papers on topics including: x-ray diffraction theories, including Bragg laws; list of electron density figures for the bases within DNA; notes on the structure of crystalline lithium DNA, including an atomic map and a diagram with the helical axes of lithium DNA at 66% relative humidity; typescript draft paper, ‘On the treatment of crystalline fibre intensities which are less than some threshold values and/or made up of contributions from more than one reflexion’. Typescript draft article, ‘A study of the relationship between the molecular weight and the sedimentation coefficient of deoxyribonucleic acid’, by Herbert Rosenkranz and Aaron Bendich, [1961], with manuscript annotations by Wilkins. Typescript draft article, ‘Base pairing in DNA’ by Jerry Donohue and Kenneth Trueblood (subsequently published in Journal of Molecular Biology, 1960), with comments (possibly by Michael Spencer), illustrations used in the published article, and an offprint brief article, ‘The structure of crystals containing a hydrogen-bonded complex of 1-methylthymine and 9-methyladenine’, by Karst Hoogsteen, published in Acta Crystallographica, 1959.

Also two letters received 1960 and 1961, requesting a signed photograph, and information on possible job vacancies, which include personal data CLOSED for review 2041.
