About this work

Description

"Creating Accepting Communities" was a Mind Inquiry into social exclusion and mental health problems, which ran in 1998; some of the material dates from the years 1996-1999.

The inquiry consisted of three panel hearings by an independent panel, with oral and written evidence from service users, businesses and organisations, small voluntary organisations as well as NHS trusts.

The material covers Mind's own background research and reports as well as publicity materials, and includes the final published report on the inquiry. The bulk of the material consists of the panel hearings (transcriptions, plans, background materials etc.) and witness statements as well as written evidence submitted by organisations, businesses and individuals. In addition, there are minutes of meetings as well as notes, correspondence and miscellaneous material relating to the inquiry.
