Notes

Gabriel Dexter is from Highgate, north London. She applied with a group of friends after a long lunch. She will be knitting a lace shawl while on the plinth, because it is something she does a lot. She has always knitted and has found that there is a community of online knitters. Talks about guerilla knitting - knitting around street structures such as traffic lights, but she doesn't participate. She is doing the project to show her children she isn't boring. She works in a curtain shop in Highgate. Family, children and her Open University courses are important to her. She is doing maths courses. She doesn't like heights or being looked at - she avoids performing. She describes herself as secretive and private.
