About this work

Description

Papers re organization set up by Mr H Jacobs of Leytonstone to publicise poor amount of funds allocated to cancer research by the government and to increase state aid. Includes press cuttings, correspondence and posters issued by the Movement urging people to write to their M.P.s.

The Movement was intended to be a national movement with branches all over the country; not to raise money but to increase public awareness and compel the government to allocate more funds for research. Raises issues concerning the role of the state in cancer research. The Movement believed in the complete responsibility of the state and complete state financing of cancer research.
