    of 3*528 which occurs in Whitechapel to the minimum 1*674 at Hackney. About one person in every 43 therefore dies annually throughout the districts taken together; hut in the Whitechapel district, which includes the London Hospital, the annual mortality is as high as one in 30, while in Hackney it does not exceed one in 60. The adjoining district of Islington is the next lowest in point of mortality, being about one in 56. The Table from which these results are taken^ shows also the annual rate of mortality per cent, by different diseases throughout the same districts, and the following is the mean \ate as well as the rate in the parish of Hackney :— ■J DISEASES.
