In Orlando innamorato and Orlando furioso, the helmet of the Moorish king Mambrino makes the wearer of it invulnerable. Don Quixote in his delusions identifies the helmet in a shaving bowl which a barber uses to protect his head from the rain. The barber's mount, a donkey, stands beside him.
