The Superintendent, whose duties have been rendered much j more laborious than usual by the patients being separately lodged ; in two Asylums, and the trouble inseparable from a transition i: from one Asylum to another, continues to give the Visitors the i fullest grounds for the confidence reposed in him. His services ) to the Visitors, connected with the building and furnishing, ^beyond his usual duties in the management of the Institution, (have been most readily given, and have been most valuable. The officers and servants have conducted themselves I!throughout the year in such a manner as to entitle them to the ([approbation of the Visitors. It may be right to mention that much extra work has been fldone by the head male and female attendants, in a manner most >3creditable to them. A very large increase has taken place this year in the it number of the inmates. The number at present are— > (including 4 Criminals at Fisherton) $ At the beginning of the Year 1863 Male. Female. The number ‘ of male patients has not increased in a greater degree than in j fordinary years. M f m The number of patients discharged in the past year has been 25, of these 11 males, 1, a criminal, and 10 females recovered, 1 male and 3 females relieved. There have been 9 deaths—4 males and 5 females.
