Draft typed text relating to Wilkins’ attendance at a biomolecular conference, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and subsequent trip to Peru, 1952. Also comment on his early DNA research with Raymond Gosling, and on his relationship with Francis Crick. Aspects of this account were used in chapter 7, ‘How does DNA keep its secrets?’ in his autobiography, The third man of the double helix (Oxford University Press, 2003).
