About this work
Description
Second in a six-part series looking at the cutting edge of fertility treatment and facing up to the emotional and ethical problems involved. Presented by Robert Winston, this part looks at the process of freezing embryos. We meet three couples wanting to conceive from using frozen embryos. One woman had to have chemotherapy following a brain tumour but had previously frozen two embryos for two years. Another go through the freezing process prior to chemotherapy for breast cancer. And we hear another angle when the male half of a couple with frozen embryos wanted them to be destroyed following the couple's split. We follow this case through the court proceedings.
