About this work

Description

These files have been constructed from a variety of bundles and loose items, some found grouped according to subject, some by date, some extracted for the writing of the centenary history. Those found to cover the same subjects as the chronological series have been interfiled with the latter; other subjects have been gathered together. Most of the contents of the bundle transferred from the 'early correspondence' (see F.4) are now in the chronological sequence, and the material about the Royal Sanitary Institute Congress of 1904, missing from the bundle, is assumed to be the material found set aside for the history, now in S.1/7. The Scottish Branch retains its own records. Its annual reports from 1889 are transcribed in the Council minutes book, C.1/1.
