About this work

Description

Close up of cluster of ovate green leaves, some with flowers and oval green fruits. Vitamin C content of lemons made them useful to prevent scurvy among sailors. Hence the name 'limeys' for British sailors. Also used in soft drinks, cookery, confectionary.
