About this work
Description
Card novelty item in full colour advertising Horlick's malted milk drink and tablets ("a convenient lunch"). It shows a milkmaid in a long blue dress, pink bonnet and white apron, a (large) tin of Horlick's in her left arm with her right arm over the neck of a brown cow, a blue rosette in her hand with: "Horlick's Malted Milk, first prize" on the ribbon. Both are standing on lush, green grass. The card can be folded (there are 2 perforated lines to help this), thus enabling it to stand as an ornament or toy. The reverse is text promoting its nutritious qualities for the sick and aged, its convenience and purity.
