Frank Rowntree resumes a topic addressed in several other broadcasts, that of the selection of appropriate and safe toys for children. On this occasion he talks about checking toys for safety after Christmas, encouraging parents to dispose of toys if broken or damaged.

Francis St. D. Rowntree 1928-1996 was awarded the OBE in 1986. In 1987 he was appointed Vice President of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents and also Vice President of the Institute of Health.
For a period in the 1970s, Frank Rowntree was the Health Education Officer for Sheffield. He was invited into the BBC Radio Sheffield studios for a regular short weekly health spot.
