Correspondence between Wilkins and Stephen Mason, Professor of Chemistry, King’s College London, 1970-1988, including: copies of letters, 1955, concerning Mason’s left-wing political sympathies; a biographical account, ‘From science to history once again’, relating to Mason’s parallel interests in chemical research and the history of science, and additional biographical notes, including his personal record as a Fellow of the Royal Society; a note from Mason, 1991, enclosing background research material on the eighteenth century history of the Wilkins family. Typescript draft texts by Mason, 1994-1999, on the history of science, possibly for a planned revision of his A history of the sciences (Routledge & Kegan Paul, London, 1953).
