About this work

Description

Diploma of Doctorate in Medicine and Philosophy, granted by Padua University. The first leaf is decorated in gold and colours, with floreated ornaments: in the centre is a double wreath, the space between cut out. Below this an emblazoned coat of arms [of Ferro?]. The first leaf of text contains a miniature of the Virgin and Child in colours, and has a floreated border. On the last leaf at the end of the text is the signature of Vincenzo [Bonifacio], Bishop of Famagusta, dated 15 April, 1705. Below this an attestation by Joannes Baptista Bernardi of the Episcopal legal office. In the lower margin is the signature of Rocchus Maria Castelli 'Scriptor et Miniator deputatus' to Padua University. Produced in Padua.
