About this work
Description
Annotated as part of an intended critical review of Cullen's system of medicine. Bisset's review is incomplete, perhaps interrupted by his death. Bound in before the title page of MS. 6149 is a preface by Bisset [but written in the hand of his wife Anne]. 'It may in the opinion of some medical gentlemen seem ... presumptuous to undertake a critical review of a system ... compiled by ... Professor Cullen ...'. Note by Bisset on p. viii of MS. 6149, 'To the Medical Society of London the following observations and remarks are inscribed ... by ... Charles Bisset'. A letter from Anne Bisset to John Coakley Lettsom, presenting these volumes to the Society in 1791, is now MS. 5370/10.
