Lettering

Effigies Tychonis Brahe Ottonidis dani, domini de Knudstrup, et arcis Uranienburg in insula Hellesponti danici Huenna fundatoris, instrumentorumque astronomicorum in aedem dispositorum inventoris et structoris. Aetatis suae anno 40. Anno Dni. 1586. compl. Philip Kilian sculps. In the lettering, Brahe is called Ottonides because his father's name was Otto. Knudstrup was the name of his family's ancestral estate, and Huenna is the latinised name of the island of Hven, on which Brahe was granted an estate
