Description
These papers were found with the Joint Council on Midwifery papers. The sub-committee was established in connection with the Joint Council on Midwifery report of 1935 "to enquire into the effect of a salaried midwives service upon the independent midwife." The Chairman of the sub-committee was Dr Watts Eden, a member of the JCM, and the secretary Miss DV Riddick, which would account for the presence of the papers among the JCM records. The representatives of the NBTF on the sub-committee were Lady Rhys-Williams and Dame Beatrix Hudson Lyall
