About this work

Description

A painting in Rita Simon's Traditional Massive style, depicting flowers in a vase with a red background. This piece was by a woman who had been in hospital for a while. Rita Simon stated that, "She painted the flowers from sight and then filled in the background, changing completely from the cool Traditional Massive style: a swing over from a depressed to a manic state."

The title has been taken from notes made during conversations between Rita Simon and Wellcome staff between 1995 and 1997.

The date has been taken from other items in this section
