Herbals: 16th cent.

Herbal with water-colour drawings of plants, and text partly in Latin, partly in Italian. The illustrations on fol. 22 are damaged. There are 50 illustrations of plants. Some added receipts, etc. by later hands. This MS. is apparently a fragment of a larger work.

Middle 16th century

1 volume 38 ll. 4to. 201/2 x 141/2 cm. Modern boards. Several of the lower margins are damaged and repaired.

The papers are available subject to the usual conditions of access to Archives and Manuscripts material, after the completion of a Reader's Undertaking.
