Description

A compilation of extracts of archive footage involving children. The compilation consists of 1. Came the Dawn (1912) - scenes of a young girl visiting a dentist and a dental nurse showing a series of toothbrushes. 2. Work done by the Liverpool Invalid Children's Association (1916) - a woman takes her sick baby to Leasowe Hospital's Baby Hospital. 3. Maternity (1931) - A dramatised account of the patient's perspective of entering a labour suite. 4. His Majesty the Baby (1932) - a dramatised portrayal of a father-to-be finding out that his wife has had their baby. 5. Dr. Bolton Home Movies (1930s) - children playing in a sand pit at Peckham Pioneer Health Centre. 6. Students of Mothercraft (1954) - A film showing nurses in Hong Kong being trained in the care of mothers and babies. 7. The Management of Twins in Pregnancy and Labour (1958) - Wellcome Foundation Film Unit's film describing the incidence, possible complications and risks associated with twin pregnancy.
