This collection was given to the Contemporary Medical Archives Centre in November 1984 by Professor Margot Jeffreys and Hessie Sachs, who conducted the research, with the consent of the general practitioners interviewed.

The quantitative datasets generated from the patient interviews and taped consultations has been housed with the Data Archive at the University of Essex.

Reviewed in 2000 re publishing material/copying without prior approval of interviewee. This was done and access restrictions removed. Anonymity in interviews waived with consent of doctors concerned.
