    STOURPORT URBAN DISTRICT COUNCIL. ANNUAL REPORT of the Medical Officer of Health For the Year 1921. GENTLEMEN. I have the honour to present my 29th Annual Report. In December 1921 the Ministry ot Health issued a circular as to the contents and arrangements of the Annual Reports of Medical Officers of Health, the earlier paragraphs of which will be of interest They are as follows : Alterations in the contents of Annual Reports. 1. — I am directed by the Minister of Health to say that he has had under consideration the question of revising the particulars to be included in the Annual Reports of Medical Officers of Hea 1th by the omission of details as to conditions which do not vary from year to year and the curtailment of the information asked for in certain years. It is hoped by this means to effect a reduction both in the time required by Medical Officers of H ealth for preparing the Reports, and in the cost of printing them, without detriment to the principal objects, fully stated in Circular 66 of January, 1920, which the Reports are designed to serve. 2. — It is proposed to give effect to these modifications at an early date by the amendment or the provisions of the County Medical Officers of H ea 1th fDut les) Ord er o f the 29th July, 1910 and;the Sanitary Offi cers (Outside London ) Ord er of the 13th December, 1910. w hich relate to the preparation of Annual Reports, and in the meantime I am to express the hope that the Council will be so good as to direct the Annual Report for 1921 to be drawn up on the lines indicated below. Survey Reports and Ordinary Reports. 3. —Annual Reports of a full and detailed character (referred to in this Circular as Survey Reports^ will normally be required at intervals of not more than five years. In other years Medical Officers of H ealth should be asked to prepare an Annual Report of a more simple character (referred to in this Circular as an Ordinary Report) including, as a minimum requirement, the particulars indicated in paragraph 5 of, and the Appendix to, this Circular. 4. —The Annual Reports for 1919 and 1920 will be treated as con¬ stituting the first of the series of Survey Reports ; and I am to express the hope that every effort will be made to expedite the completion of any Reports for the latter year which are still outstanding.
