Description

Adam Hart Davies, reporting from Birmingham, tells the story of the Lunar Society, a society of scientists who provided the intellectual driving force for the industrial revolution. It was founded in 1766 by Matthew Bolton, Erasmus Darwin (father of Charles Darwin) and William Small. Among its distinguished members were Josiah Wedgwood, James Watt, William Withering and Joseph Priestly.
