Notes

Chantal Perez was born in Uruguay. She had just finished studying publishing at Oxford Brookes University. Whilst there she was a member of the role playing society, the Pirate Society (they dress as pirates, go punting as pirates and drink lots of rum basically). She has lived all over the world including South America. Also spoke about space and the idea that it be a place that people could share but no-one 'owned' it, like Antarctic. She said she had felt very different from her peers at school in the US, but immediately felt at home in the UK where she felt she had found kindred spirits. On the plinth she will be standing pretending to be hitch hiking to Mars.
