About this work

Trachoma WHO grade: trachomatous trichiasis (TT) with corneal opacity (CO) This is the upper tarsal conjunctiva of a patient with trachoma grades TT and CO. This patient has entropion (inversion of the eyelid), and many eyelashes are rubbing on the cornea. The cloudiness of the cornea signifies opacity. Trachomatous trichiasis and corneal opacification are commonly seen together since corneal opacity is a consequence of trichiasis. Note: WHO = World Health Organization.
