In 1967 two wards of Lancaster Moor Psychiatric Hospital were converted to form the nucleus of a Lancaster Sub-Centre; in 1965 this was nominated as Lancaster Blood Transfusion Centre and opened on 22 Sep by Lord Cohen of Birkenhead
