Biographical note

A resolution was taken at a National Council meeting in June 1976 for the FPA to arrange for a report on past attempts to influence human behaviour in the field of contraception and their effectiveness. The NEC gave the go ahead for Wendy Smith, former Press Secretary for the FPA and Campaign Secretary for the Family Planning International Campaign to write the report, which was entitled: 'Campaigning for Choice'; it was published in 1978.
