About this work

Description

These letters appear to have been retained by Dean when he left the Lister Institute, where he had been Head of the Serum Department, to take up the post of Professor of Pathology at the University of Aberdeen. They were sold at Christies in December 1986 and these photocopies of the originals are placed among the Lister Institute archives through the kindness of J Wilson of Oxford and K W Rendell of Newton, Massachussets. It is not clear how the letters to Elliott and Fry and Dr Bulloch became associated with the papers but the letters are to Dean except where otherwise indicated.
