Notes

John Bishop comes from Birmingham. He is a fire-fighter but had to retire due to ill health. He was very sad to leave the service as he says it is in his blood, his father and grandfather were firemen, his grandmother helped during the war in the fire service. Since leaving the fire service he has studied art and is now a practising artist. On the plinth He is dressing as a fireman and raising awareness of the fire service and the British Health Foundation.
