Gordon Dickson comes from Glasgow but was born in Corby and came from an industrious Scottish family (grandparents) who moved to Yorkshire to work in the steel industry. When there was no work left he came to study at university in London and then moved back to Glasgow working in the arts and theatre in admin and producing, then decided to leave and go and travel around the work as sustainably as he could. On the plinth he is going to bring up his folding bicycle to promote sustainable travel.
