About this work

Description

Baron Moulton, mathematician, barrister and judge. Barrister in cases involving technical questions covered by the Patents, designs, and trade marks act (1883). Fellow of the Royal Society. Consulted by the firm of Burroughs Wellcome & Co. on registration for experiments on living animals, and acted for the company in 1903 in its legal action in defense of the trademark Tabloid. Liberal Member of Parliament for the Clapham division of Battersea 1885-1886, for South Hackney 1894-1895, and for the Launceston division of Cornwall 1898-1906. In World War I created the explosives supply department (ESD, a branch of the War Office)
